  • Select the best papers, from fine art supplies to everyday junk mail.

  • Prepare your materials and set up your workspace with drafting tape guides.

  • Adjust your sewing machine for optimal stitching of paper.

  • Construct layered compositions by sewing directly onto paper.

  • Finish your pieces with professional framing techniques.

  • Base paper: 6" x 6" squares (BFK Rives printmaking paper recommended)

  • Sewing thread in various colors (cotton, polyester, or rayon; 30, 40, or 50 weight)

  • Drafting tape or blue painter’s tape

  • Post-It notes, X-Acto knife, paper scissors, thread trimming scissors

  • Metal edge ruler, self-healing cutting mat

Optional:

  • Handmade, craft, or watercolor paper for added texture and variety

Participants will receive a PDF with a detailed supply list, step-by-step instructions, and printable templates prior to the workshop.
