Join us for a special Creative Meetup designed to help artists write or refine their personal artist statements. Together, we’ll explore how to craft statements that address:
Your overall artistic practice.
Specific works of art.
A cohesive body of work.
We'll also delve into the difference between an artist statement and an artist bio, clarifying their unique purposes.
An artist statement isn’t just for exhibitions or critics—it’s a vital tool for understanding your creative process, articulating your ideas, and connecting others to your art on a deeper level.
Important Note:
Participants must have their own hard copy (no Kindles or sharing) of Art-Write: The Writing Guide for Visual Artists by Vicki Krohn Amorose. This book will be used as our workbook for live writing exercises and individual work between sessions. It’s available on Amazon for approximately $8. This requirement is non-negotiable.
