LA LUNA, the moon, is known by many names around the world: La Lune, A Lua, Gealach, Tsuki, Måne, Inyanga, and many more. Moon is an archetype, a symbol of romance, mystery, divination, yin, the feminine. She is a goddess and, in some cultures, she is he—a god. Everyone, whether they know it or not, has not only a solar zodiac sign, but also a lunar zodiac sign and a moon phase that coincides with the time of their birth. There are Blue Moons, Super Moons, and moons specific to each month of the calendar. Moon is the regulator of tides, cycles, times to sow and times to reap. She is Earth’s constant companion and object of space explorations. On our clear desert nights, she illuminates the landscape almost as brightly as the sun and encourages Coyote to sing, but her light is a cool, blue reflection of sunlight. La Luna is many things to many people. What meaning does La Luna bring to you?

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Artists must be current members of PaperWorks. This is an invitational exhibition; members will be chosen to participate in the exhibit by Juror Kevin Pawlak (co-owner of Arte de la Vida) after submitting examples of previously  made work (which do not have to be related to this exhibit’s theme). Selected members will then create ONE work to be included in the exhibit according to the WORK GUIDELINES (see below).

Please read all of the guidelines and instructions that follow carefully. Submissions that do not follow the instructions will not be considered; delivered work that does not meet the size and presentation requirements will not be accepted into the exhibit.
