Big and Little: Mastering the Art of Working Large in Collage is designed to help stretch participants out of their comfort zone, into the realm of creating large works suitable for any show or gallery, with the confidence that comes from understanding how to scale up without losing the integrity of the design.
Whether experienced artist or novice, this course will dare you to let go of expectations and ignore the rules; infusing freedom into your creativity by tapping into the intuitive voice as your personal guide.
Originally filmed live online, this course begins with a series of small collage works created spontaneously, working up in scale to a more intentional placement of elements from that same place of freedom. With tips, tricks, and techniques for working in the art of collage, whether for personal or professional development, this class will help you grow as an artist.

Class Date: It is a self-paced, pre-recorded class.  Access to the Video will begin on July 15, 2024.

Location: Access through Instructor’s Vimeo account with password.  Live Zoom meet-up after the class, PaperWorks will host this meeting

The class is composed of 15 - 20 hours of lesson content.

Biography: Crystal Marie is an artist and an author with a passion for teaching others how to recover their own unique voice. Her process is intuitive, which, she says, is simply the truest, most authentic version of her own voice.

Following her intuitive knowing has been the foundation of Crystal’s career as an artist, when in her 30s a happenstance encounter with a stranger handing her an art magazine was all it took to awaken that long forgotten place inside.

Today Crystal has an established career as a professional artist with gallery representation, one book published on the art of collage, and is currently writing a book about the intuitive voice. Crystal has exhibited her work in many fine art exhibitions, solo shows, and events. She teaches workshops on her website Canary Rising and (prior to the pandemic) locations across the US.

A live Zoom meet-up with Crystal Marie and class members is scheduled on August 22, 2024 to discuss their process and ask questions.
