Artist Statement:
Until this past year, my medium has been textiles, primarily the amazing artistic creations from indigenous cultures around the world. I have been creating wearable art, not just as something to wear, but also for the purpose of getting these beautiful textiles out of trunks and closets and back out in the world.
While I still love working with textiles, I have become increasingly intrigued with paper as an art medium. It seems a natural transition from design, texture, color on textiles to those applications on paper. Printing making, collage, book-making are all in my future.
